Skunklights was formed in 2002 when a group of friends from the Candlepowerforums decided to design the Mclux™, one of the first high power LED lights in existence. This light employed top quality components and cutting-edge technology, including the Luxeon™ high power LED by Lumileds™ paired with a highly efficient constant current step-up DC/DC converter by Yamaguchi Consulting. The result was a light that shined with a constant brightness until the batteries were nearly depleted.
Since then, the individuals of the original Skunklights group have been working together as well as independently on various projects, both in fixed and portable lighting. Skunklights' mission is to bring top quality and innovative lighting products to reality.
